INCLUSIVE DESIGN FOR DIGITAL LEARNING: THE UDL FRAMEWORK

The prevalence of technology in all aspects of society, education, and work presents new opportunities to overcome challenges associated with vulnerable participants' inclusion. The proliferation of digital technologies in education, encompassing diverse technology-enhanced learning implementations like blended learning, online courses, simulations, virtual classrooms, and mobile learning, necessitates a paradigm shift based on the effective application of inclusive design principles and frameworks towards ensuring the learning environments, teaching materials, and educational services that are universally usable by all students, to the maximum extent possible. Researchers and experts in education and instructional design discuss and experiment with many proactive methodologies and instructional design approaches that prioritize the needs of a heterogeneous user base in digital learning environment development. The current paper presents some results and findings of a study that investigates globally recognized methodologies, principles, and frameworks for the design and development of inclusive digital learning environments carried out within the Erasmus+ project „Inclusive Digital Learning (Dig-2-Inc, 2022-1-FI01-KA220-HED-000090147).
MARKET RELEVANT VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING ON STANDARDIZATION IN BULGARIA - NEEDS AND REQUIREMENTS

In this paper are briefly presented the main results from a research aiming to identify the Bulgarian labor market needs and requirements regarding the provision of the easily accessible tailored education and training related to standardization (especially standards ISO/IEC 27000 and ISO 31000). The research has been conducted in the framework of the international project �International Standards training in VET for promotion of market relevant education� /ISTRA/ � 2016-1-BG01-KA202-023738, which is funded by the EC under the Erasmus+ programme. Section 1 presents the main ISTRA concept for VET in standardization. In Section 2 are described the methodology, scope of the survey, and the used tools. The survey conducted in Bulgaria was attended by 277 respondents a total. From them 84 trainers and 193 are trainees. The selection procedures and profile of the respondents are briefly presented in Section 3. In the last section some conclusions are described.
Models and approaches to modernize training in universities

Today`s globalized world and knowledge-based economy as well as the recent evolution of information and communication technologies (ICT) impose new requirements and challenges to the Higher Education (HE). The universities should integrate new educational technologies, ICT-based teaching methodologies and tools, new approaches to teaching and learning, in order to create opportunities for entry to new markets and new global partnerships, to stimulate new distribution and delivery approaches and opportunities for students of all backgrounds, which will allow them to increase the living standards for themselves and for the future generations. The paper is focused on some main results achieved so far in the framework of the project �Accessibility and Harmonization of Higher Education in Central Asia through Curriculum Modernization and Development� - ACADEMICA � 561553-EPP-1-2015-1-BG-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP. This 3-year project is co-funded by the European Commission as a part of the Erasmus+ Programme, KA2 - Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education and involves 15 partners coming from Europe and Central Asia. The paper presents some models and solutions used for the development of the educational environment ACADEMICA, which aims to contribute for the active inclusion of the University lecturers in the HE reform and the global educational space by development and improvement of their key and transversal competences and by provision of communication area and framework stimulating the synthesis of educational innovations and the exchange of experiences and best practices in different spheres and domains provided by experts from the Central Asia and EU.
THE EUROPEAN INITIATIVE FOR MASSIVE OPEN ONLINE COURSES /MOOCs/ AND THE CHALLENGES FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION IN BULGARIA

The advances in technology and changing demand from higher educational institutions and business as well as the possibility for reducing costs and generating income has led to the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) explosion. Over the last years, MOOCs have received a great deal of attention from the academic community and, the business world. MOOCs paradigm appears as a very advantageous and commercially interesting solution for many companies looking to implement effective training programs for the employees. Consequently, MOOCs have the potential to revolutionize the corporate learning industry. The paper presents some results of documentary research and online research both conducted in the framework of the Project BizMOOC “Knowledge Alliance to enable a European-wide exploitation of the potential of MOOCs for the world of business” 562286-EPP-1-2015-1- AT-EPPKA2-KA involving 11 EU countries. The presented comparative analysis' results are connected with the identification of the current state of MOOCs in Europe, respectively in Bulgaria, and the outlining of the main challenges for the implementation and the boost of the MOOCs initiative. In the end some conclusions and summarizations concerning the discussed issues are presented.
USES OF THE VIRTUAL WORLD FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES

Virtual worlds (VWs) provide sensory immersive experience, exploratory hands-on learning, collaborative social interaction, experiential learn-led activities and active roleplay that go beyond the traditional classroom setting. Therefore these immersive environments and applications are very important tools in modern education practices. This paper focuses on the uses of virtual worlds and gamification strategies in the field of education. VWs provide excellent opportunities for an effective distance and online education through the support of groups or communities bringing together subject domain experts, teachers and students from different countries or locations. Consequently, the development of new collaborative e-learning approaches is facilitated. The article presents educational models and gamification strategies developed and tested during the activities carried out in two successful international projects. Some piloting results, lessons learnt, generalizations and conclusions for improvement the v-Learning effectiveness are described and analyzed in the last section.
АНАЛИЗ НА ХАРАКТЕРИСТИКИ НА АКУМУЛАТОРНИ УСТРОЙСТВА

В статията са анализирани и представени различните съвременни технологии, използвани при изграждането на тягови акумулаторни батерии и устройства, подходящи за електрозадвижвания. Разгледани са конструктивните особености на най-разпространените типове батерии: никел-кадмиеви, никел метал-хидридни, литиево-йонни, литиево полимерни и оловни, материалите от които са изградени акумулаторните клетки, както и електрохимичните процеси възникващи при заряд и разряд в клетките на батериите. За всеки конкретен тип технология са посочени типичните параметри, както и основните предимства и недостатъци.

Тази публикация представя някои от резултатите от дейностите по проект № BG161P003-1.2.02-0022-C0001 „Създаване на нов офис за трансфер на иновационни технологии в предприятията от Югоизточен регион”, финансиран по оперативна програма „Развитие на конкурентоспособността на българската икономика” 2007-2013, процедура за предоставяне на безвъзмездна финансова помощ BG161PO003-1.2.02 „Създаване на нови и укрепване на съществуващи офиси за технологичен трансфер”, чийто бенефициент е Бургаски свободен университет. Описани са накратко целите и задачите на проекта. Основно внимание се обръща на създадения виртуален офис за технологичен трансфер и на някои от технологиите от базата данни на Офиса за технологичен трансфер (ОТТ).

Статията представя европейските инициативи за масови отворени онлайн курсове /МООК/ в областта на висшето образование. Специален акцент е поставен върху перспективите и предизвикателствата, стоящи пред българските университети от гледна точка на активното им участие при осъществяването на тези инициативи. Общият преглед на съществуващите MOOCs инициативи в сферата на висшето образование, както и информацията и данните, представени в тази статия са резултат от мащабно проучване и изследвания, проведени в рамките на международен проект BizMOOC.
ИЗГРАЖДАНЕ НА ВИРТУАЛНА ЕКСПОЗИЦИЯ С ИКОНИ ОТ ФОНДА НА РЕГИОНАЛЕН ИСТОРИЧЕСКИ МУЗЕЙ - БУРГАС

Статията описва проект, свързан със създаването на дигитална експозиция на икони от фонда на Регионален исторически музей – Бургас. Цел на разработката е да се осигури адекватно и комплексно представяне, документиране, каталогизиране и опазване на иконите от колекцията на музея чрез използването на съвременни технологии. Описани са основните дейности и изисквания, свързани с разработването на дигиталната експозиция на подобни уникални културно-исторически артефакти на глобално разпределена база от потребители по начин, стимулиращ научните изследвания и междукултурния диалог на всички нива. Накратко е описан концептуален модел за дигитално експониране на иконографски обекти.
Иновативен подход към обучението във виртуалния свят в контекста на проект AVATAR

In this paper are described approaches and methods used in the framework of the international project AVATAR[1]. The project’s primary aim is to enhance the quality of teaching and education in high schools through an innovative virtual world learning environment. The unique qualities of Virtual learning (v-learning) impart opportunities for collaborative learning and co-creation that can help teachers and students take a step closer towards the modernization and future of education. AVATAR provides an opportunity for both teachers and students to benefit from ICT skill development, social learning opportunities and a resource to help revive the traditional classroom environment, adding value to the learning process. V-learning promotes learning-by-doing that stimulates different learning styles and increases the level of student engagement in different subject matters through technology, integrating textbook, discussion groups and labs.
Иновативни подходи и методи за изграждане на умения и компетентности в контекста на проект е-Менторинг

In this paper are described approaches and methods used in the framework of the international project e-Mentoring1. Successful participation in the fast changing labour market requires the alignment of employment-related skills and competencies. Thus, it is very important for the last year students at universities and vocational education and training (VET) institutions, as well as for adult learners to prepare themselves to re-/enter the labour market and get employed or to start own business. During the last years mentoring provided by employers and/or employees in the role of mentors is becoming a more and more common method worldwide as an effective learning process. The project aims at transferring mentoring experiences of all three educational sectors into a common e-Mentoring model providing in the same time innovative tools and methodology for its implementation.

The paper presents a methodology for teaching Maths (especially Geometry) developed in the framework of two projects - the international project TALETE [9] and the project for the development of Burgas Free University /BFU/ Distance Learning Centre [12]. Aim of these projects is the improvement of the distance training and learning by development of modern instruments and methodologies based on the advanced ICT achievements with focus on the balanced integration of theory and practice.

Насърчаването на зеления преход чрез университетско образование по зелени стандарти цели да допринесе за постигането на устойчивите, зелени и цифрови цели на Европейския съюз чрез предоставяне на иновативни университетски курсове за микрокредити, свързани със стандартите за опазване на околната среда и управлението, за подобряване на цифровите и зелени възможности на сектора на висшето образование. Докладът представя някои констатации и резултати от изследването по проекта „Стимулиране на зеленото бъдеще чрез университетски курсове за микрокредити“ (B-Green-ED), проведено в четири страни от ЕС - България, Литва, Испания и Румъния.

In response to the negative impacts of Covid-19, it is urgent and crucial the initiatives for the digital transformation of educational activities at all levels related to the development of new inclusive digital pedagogical methods and skills for relevant and suitable use of digital educational tools aimed at learners (including to participants with disabilities) to be supported. This creates the conditions for a more integrated EU strategy to draft a proposal for a Council Recommendation on the factors contributing to successful digital education, which implies a real digital revolution in educational processes and learning skills. This article presents the main results of a study conducted within the EDU GATE 2020-1-IT02-KA226-HE-095538 project, covering cross-sectional needs analysis and detailed multisectoral analysis of the current state of digital learning in higher education in Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, and Latvia.
ОСНОВНИ РЕЖИМИ НА ЗАРЯД НА ТЯГОВИ АКУМУЛАТОРИ

В студията е направено проучане и са анализирани различните фактори, указващи влияние върху производителността на съвременните тягови батерии. Разгледани са детайлно поляризационните процеси настъпващи по време на заряд и разряд в оловните тягови батерии, влиянието на температурата и концентрацията на електролита. Анализирани са съвременните техники за безопасен и бърз заряд на АБ. За всеки режим са посочени съответните предимства и недостатъци.

Статията описва проблемите, с които се сблъсква РИМ-Бургас, в процеса на цифровизиране на движимите паметници на културата, съхранявани във фондовете на музея. Внимание е отделено и на стъпките и дейностите на музея в опит да се отговори на изискванията на Информационното общество на 21-ви век.
