The object of research interest in this paper are the so-called „capitals of capital” - the international financial centres, the leading rating valuations and expert analyses of these financial megalopolises. Some new trends in their shifting are analysed and the parameters of their current configuration are defined. The research is done in two parts – theoretical and methodological part, connected with the comments as regards the criteria for differentiation, and research part which analyses their global configuration. The scientific thesis defended is that in the period of global crisis the new configuration of the world financial centres has more flexible concentration and increased polarization, which makes them more resistant to the economic disturbances.
