Item СОЦИАЛНО-ИКОНОМИЧЕСКИ АСПЕКТИ НА НАЦИОНАЛНА СИГУРНОСТ И ОТБРАНА(Бургаски Свободен Университет, 2023) Арнауд, НевсеThe problem of economic security has never existed on its own. It has always stemmed from the need for economic growth at every stage of society's development. In this sense, guaranteeing economic security has always been one of the main functions of the state, but the issue of economic security as the basis of national security in modern conditions is a relatively new and incompletely researched problem. Guaranteeing the economic security of the Republic of Bulgaria, as a necessary condition for the development and prosperity of our country, increasingly focuses public attention, since the scale of the threats and the real damage they cause to the national economy undoubtedly place these issues among the most significant national priorities.Item СТРАТЕГИЯ ЗА КИБЕРСИГУРНОСТ НА ЕВРОПЕЙСКИЯ СЪЮЗ(Бургаски Свободен Университет, 2023) Бошнак, ШабанThe policy of the European Union on cybersecurity issues represents a specific and extremely topical problem, the solution of which requires the active engagement of both countries and international organizations, as well as stakeholders from a variety of fields.Item NATIONAL REFERENDUM IN REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA(Бургаски Свободен Университет, 2023) Neikova, Maria; Węglarz, BarbaraA referendum, which is a form of expressing the will of citizens, plays an important role in democratic state systems. It is a tool that complements the model of representative power that is dominant in many countries, allowing citizens to directly participate in the decision-making process. In this context, the referendum, as a tool that complements the representative form of government, has found its place in the constitutions of many post-communist countries in Europe, including Bulgaria. The article presents an analysis of the national referendums of this Balkan country, taking into account both the historical context and current legal provisions regulating this form of civic participation. The analysis is based on a review of legal provisions and a study of historical examples of referendums in Bulgaria, including those related to political transformations after the communist period. In the context of the current challenges of democracy and public participation, the analysis of national referendums in Bulgaria aims to provide a deeper understanding of the role of this form of direct democracy in the Bulgarian political system and the possible implications for the future of citizen participation in the decision-making process.
