Abstract

The article presents a pilot Bulgarian version of the Ego Identity Process assessment Questionnaire (EIPQ) with initial psychometric analyses. The sample group consists of 52 participants - mostly adolescents between the ages of 15 and 18, along with a small group of 11 adult participants who were sentenced to probation for relatively minor crimes. Among the teenagers there are also 10 adolescents - perpetrators of anti-social acts. The sample is not gender balanced. A statistical analysis was made for reliability (internal consistency) of the questionnaire and of its main subscales. Correlation analyzes are presented. Comparative analyzes on the "illegal behavior" criterion didn’t reveal significant differences in ego-identity statuses. The small number of individuals of the sample doesn’t meet the requirements for conducting factor analyses. Findings from the pilot study suggest expanding the sample and applying Exploratory and Confirmatory factor analyses.
