dc.description.abstractThe article examines the creation of the construct of the legal entity in a historical and logical consequence. It has its roots in Roman law. Such a concept does not belong to Digesta and to Corpus Juris Civilis. Ii discusses the creation of the collegia sodalicia and the other similar bodies as well as the creation of the lex Julia collegus. The article analyzes the creation and the rapidly increasing use of the term ‘legal entity’. It examines the different theories on the content of the concept surveyed.
