Abstract
The article makes a comparative analysis between the subjects Financial Markets and Financial Engineering. The status of the two subjects is pointed – they are taught as educational practices at Burgas Free University. The relation between the different types of markets, the traded financial instruments and the strategies used are examined, as well as the problems in teaching and holding the exams. A particular example is given that shows the logical connection and continuity of both subjects.
