The digitalization of Bulgaria’s healthcare system is a strategic step toward more accessible and efficient health services. Key stakeholders—medical professionals, patients, institutions, and IT experts—hold different attitudes, with healthcare workers and patients needing more support. Major challenges include low digital literacy, poor system integration, and limited funding. International experience highlights successful models in Estonia and Denmark. A survey of 107 respondents shows positive attitudes toward electronic health services. Successful digitalization requires training, secure infrastructure, clear legal frameworks, and ethical data management to ensure the development of a sustainable and socially equitable healthcare system in Bulgaria.
