Abstract

The first meeting of a child and its parents is always of great importance for the work that will follow. Allowing the parent and the child to speak separately, as well as the place from which each member of the family will speak in order to reconstruct the history of suffering, is something which Françoise Dolto has thought upon throughout her entire professional path. What can we use from the theoretical and practical experience of Dolto and her French psychoanalyst colleagues when listening to the family, when taking the anamnesis of the family and when expressing our opinion in the first admission?
