This paper studies the income per capita convergence in six EU countries from Central and Eastern Europe - Bulgaria, Czechia, Croatia, Hungary, Poland and Romania to the euro area for the period 2000-2019. The results show that since the crisis of 2009, the convergence of GDP per capita in CEE countries with that of the euro area has been slowing down. This applies both to the reduction of the coefficient of variation and to the catching up process.
