Abstract
The article examines the genesis and nature of the reality TV phenomenon. It reveals the potential of this meta-genre formation from a cognitive, entertaining, regulatory, experimental, and commercial perspective. The emphasis is on the ethics of communication and the verbal behavior of the participants. The conclusion is that showing the everyday life of common people should not deviate dramatically from social norms.
