dc.description.abstractThe paper presents a brief overview of the process of rediscovery and recognition of crime victim during the last decades. The legal status of the injured party in recent European acts and on a national level is explored. Both the achievements and the deficits of the regulation are underlined as well as some of their practical implications. The crime victims' protection is considered an essential function of the rule of law state.
