In an era of intensive digitalization, automation, and global redistribution of knowledge, education is becoming a leading mechanism for shaping adaptive, creative, and technologically proficient citizens. The transformation towards Education and Economy 5.0 requires a rethinking of traditional educational paradigms and the introduction of innovative models that integrate technical expertise with a humanistic perspective, practical application, and social responsibility. In this context, STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) offers a sustainable and flexible framework for developing 21st-century competencies – critical thinking, algorithmic and digital literacy, teamwork, communication, and the ability to solve complex problems. Such an approach is increasingly necessary, as future professions will require skills that transcend individual subject areas and combine technical knowledge with an innovative culture and interpersonal intelligence. The report presents an innovative model for STEM education implemented within the framework of the project „Innovative Educational Hub: STEM Laboratory and Workshops for the Future at BFU,“ carried out through collaboration between the Center for Humanities and the Center for Informatics and Technical Sciences at Burgas Free University. The model brings together future educators and engineers in interdisciplinary teams working on practical tasks using LEGO Education kits (SPIKE Prime, WeDo 2.0), STEM lesson scenarios, and game mechanics.Key activities include the development and testing of STEM lessons, creation of prototypes of „smart” devices, participation in hackathons, training sessions for teachers and students, as well as scientific activities – conferences, publications, illustrating the applicability of the approach. Empirical data show high satisfaction, increased motivation, and skills development among participants. The model functions as part of BFU’s learning ecosystem, combining innovative technologies, academic capacity, and social engagement. The presented model confirms the need to redirect university education towards real practical applicability and the building of a STEM culture. It offers a reproducible and adaptable format, applicable not only in pedagogical disciplines but also from a transdisciplinary perspective. Through a focus on active learning, collaboration, and the creation of real-world products, the model meets contemporary educational requirements in the context of Education 5.0.
