Abstract

The existence of general principles of law is unanimously recognized in international law. Yet it is a matter of discussion what is their legal nature, and what are the particular principles. The present article outlines the conclusion that by their nature the general principles of law are maxims of legal logic bearing the following features: they exist as legal principles and are recognized as such by both the different domestic systems of law and the international law.
