РОЛЯТА НА МЕТФОРМИН В ЛЕЧЕНИЕТО НА ЗАХАРЕН ДИАБЕТ ТИП 2 ПРИ ПАЦИЕНТИ С КОВИД -19

| dc.description | During the Covid-19 pandemic, many additional benefits of Metformin beyond its effect on glycemia have been proven - possible influence on endothelial dysfunction, inhibition of virus entry into cells, change in the immune and inflammatory process during Covid-19 infection. This makes Metformin an important element of treatment for type 2 DM during the Covid-19 infection. Bearing in mind contraindications for the use of the medication, there are known inappropriate concomitant conditions that must be taken into account when using it and should not be neglected. As with any other infection, including Covid-19 disease, strict control of plasma glucose is necessary for people with type 2 DM. Maintaining normoglycemia is an important element in the cure of the infection and the favorable outcome of the disease. | |
| dc.description.abstract | През време на Ковид- 19 пандемията се доказаха много допълнителни ползи на Метформин отвъд ефекта му върху гликемията – възможно повлияване на ендотелната дисфункция, инхибиция на навлизането на вируса в клетките, промяна в имунния и възпалителния процес по време на Ковид – 19 инфекцията. Това превръща Метформин във важен елемент от лечението за ЗД тип 2 по време на Ковид- 19 инфекцията. Имайки предвид противопоказания за приложение на медикамента, са известни неподходящите съпътстващи състояния, които трябва да се съобразят при използването му и не бива да се пренебрегват. Както при всяка друга инфекция, включително и при заболяване от Ковид-19, за хората със ЗД тип 2 е необходим строг контрол на плазмената глюкоза. Поддържането на нормогликемия е важен елемент в излекуването на инфекцията и благоприятния изход на заболяването. | |
