dc.description.abstractThe paper focuses on some strengths and weaknesses of distant higher education in the age of new technologies. The case of the Open University in UK as the world leader in providing high quality online degrees and distant learning has been discussed. The main steps in preparation of the author’s MA distant course ‘Social context of public communications’ are outlined: teaching aims, online activities and resources used, outcomes, evaluation criteria.
