Abstract
Today`s globalized world and knowledge-based economy as well as the recent evolution of information and communication technologies (ICT) impose new requirements and challenges to the Higher Education (HE). The universities should integrate new educational technologies, ICT-based teaching methodologies and tools, new approaches to teaching and learning, in order to create opportunities for entry to new markets and new global partnerships, to stimulate new distribution and delivery approaches and opportunities for students of all backgrounds, which will allow them to increase the living standards for themselves and for the future generations. The paper is focused on some main results achieved so far in the framework of the project �Accessibility and Harmonization of Higher Education in Central Asia through Curriculum Modernization and Development� - ACADEMICA � 561553-EPP-1-2015-1-BG-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP. This 3-year project is co-funded by the European Commission as a part of the Erasmus+ Programme, KA2 - Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education and involves 15 partners coming from Europe and Central Asia. The paper presents some models and solutions used for the development of the educational environment ACADEMICA, which aims to contribute for the active inclusion of the University lecturers in the HE reform and the global educational space by development and improvement of their key and transversal competences and by provision of communication area and framework stimulating the synthesis of educational innovations and the exchange of experiences and best practices in different spheres and domains provided by experts from the Central Asia and EU.
