Abstract

The study resents the basic theories and concepts in psychology, which interpret the structure and contents of the Self-concept in the historical context as well as the context of the modern science of psychology. It studies the Self and the Self-concepts in the psychodynamic and cognitive paradigms and in humanistic psychology as well. The study explains the interconnections between the Self-concept, self-evaluation, Self-image and outlines the main methods and techniques for study of the contents of the Self-concept construct.
