Abstract: The European Union (EU) aims to be a world leader in the fight against climate change and in this regard seeks to achieve the objectives in agreement with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 21) in Paris, while ensuring clean energy throughout the Union. The subject of this article is an analysis of the technological implementation of these goals in terms of investments in the Bulgarian energy sector and the resulting disproportions. An analysis of the results obtained from a study of the influence of various climatic factors on the daily duration of the work cycle of photovoltaic panels is also presented. Proposals have also been made to correct the negative trends.
