Abstract: The article analyzes the proper nouns in the headlines of 13 newspapers during the period 2007-2010. The emphasis is put on names of persons and the way in which they are used (only first name, only family name, first name and family name together, nickname, pseudonym, disrespectful name). Some of the issues that are researched are: how the proper nouns are included in the journalist publications in the press, what information they give about the participants, do the politicians and the institutions respect each other. This article is part of the research work on the project Ethnopsycholinguistic and Sociolinguistic Aspects of Media Language of the Bulgarian Press, funded by the National Science Fund of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science.
