Abstract: The paper looks at some of the tendencies in the use of foreign words in the Bulgarian press in 2007. Samples from newspaper texts are quoted to illustrate the necessary or unnecessary use of foreign words by journalists. Analyzed are the factors which have brought about the increased use of certain foreign words in the researched newspapers.
